Nelson and the finance team manage the accounting, legal, investment and other financial operations for the firm.

Nelson’s background includes a mix of venture fund operations, public accounting and start-up controller experience. Before joining Tallwood, Nelson was the VP of Finance at Pinnacle Ventures, a venture debt and equity firm where he was responsible for the financial reporting, investment operations, and portfolio monitoring. Prior to Pinnacle, Nelson was a senior auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, with a wide variety of clients including venture capital funds, early stage companies and publicly traded enterprises. Before PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nelson was the controller of Appaloosa Interactive, a video game software developer. In addition to his financial and administrative responsibilities at Appaloosa, Nelson was actively involved in the fundraising effort of its subsidiary, Bonus.com.

Nelson received his BSBA in Accounting with High Honors from University of California at Berkeley and obtained his CPA designation in California.
